This is a half day course developed especially for Radiologists who may encounter deteriorating patients within their radiology suite. The course is a small group hands on course taught by emergency specialists and nurses and covers two major components CPR Basics including assessment and adult and paediatric deteriorating patient scenarios.
CPR component combines an online theory pre-reading and pre-test MCQ so your work time is not wasted with face to face theory teaching. The 1.5hr CPR face to face component is all hands on – initially technique teaching sessions and then individual assessment to sign of CPR competency by Qualified ALS and APLS instructors teaching the eduAcute CPR module
The 2.5hrs of hands on Scenarios allow participants to practice their approach to the deteriorating patient until help arrives. We take you through how to prioritise early treatment in cases you may encounter, how to best use the resources you have until more help arrives and how to effectively and efficiently refer these patients to ongoing care providers.
The scenarios are all chosen from cases that have deteriorated previously in this environment e.g. anaphylaxis, medication side effects and Patients with underlying medical conditions that may cause them to collapse or generally misbehave whilst attending for their scans.
ARM’D Radiology Consult Course
4 hours of intensive face to face instruction on CPR and acute deterioration
12 spots available for Radiologists and Radiology registrars per course
11.25 RANZCR CPD points can be claimed for attendance at the ARM’D Radiology Consult Course
(additional 2-4 spots for nurses and radiographers)
As all our mannequins are mobile, courses can be run at your facility to increase the realness of the scenarios. You will need to provide a single room to accommodate initial practical sessions and then the clinical environment to stage the scenarios. Venues would need to fill at least 80% of registrations (either internally or externally) and depending on distance there may be a small fee for travel and freight of mannequins and equipment. Please contact us if you wish to receive a quote to run this course at your venue.

Very valuable and great actors making it a real-life experience, thank you I don't know if it is possible but maybe a workshop to help us understand priorities in different situations would be helpful Keep up the good work eduAcute team Thanks guys! Lots of practice, variety of stations and very useful practical feedback. Michelle was amazing and hard working and of course an excellent actor. Really love a lot of your scenarios The OSCE exams were excellent and I feel much better after coming to this course, thanks Michelle for organising. Very helpful, good to have challenging scenarios, may be even more to be prepared for the unexpected Michelle and Team, this is the best course I have been to, the feedback was great, the scenarios felt like one that could come in the exam, today felt like no minute was lost Excellent course, good opportunity to practice OSCEs Very valuable course, great scenarios and excellent debriefs I did both this and the CHUSE communication course. Found both very helpful in my prep. Location very good- although far from my home. The Alfred Hospital was a good location for the course, it made it a real experience just like the exam Excellent course. Concentrated on high yield topics with an emphasis on practising scenarios under exam conditions. The small group size maximised the learning experience and the atmosphere. Highly recommended A+++ The teaching workshop was really good, as was the entire course, thank you. A very well organised course. I learnt a lot regarding the nuances of the OSCE examination, specially in regards to communication. Fantastic learning experience and essential for keeping up to date on skills Fantastic course, would be even better if we could have the ECG/VBG inside the room as per the new exam style It was a really wonderful experience today.
feedback very helpful. Good strong emphasis on doing the practice OSCE stations as that is the best prep. Very good structure to use in the approach to a station.
